ESTABLISHED IN 2019, SV@HOME'S ACTION FUND (SVHAF) ADDRESSES THE HOUSING CRISIS THROUGH CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY, AND SUPPORT OR OPPOSITION OF BALLOT MEASURES THAT IMPACT AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND HOMELESSNESS.

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT - IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, THE SV@HOME ACTION FUND (ACTION FUND) CONDUCTED PUBLIC EDUCATION, ORGANIZING, AND ADVOCACY THROUGHOUT SANTA CLARA COUNTY REGARDING THE HISTORY OF EXCLUSIONARY HOUSING POLICIES AND PRACTICES AND STEPS THAT COULD BE TAKEN AT THE STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL TO PROVIDE REDRESS WHILE EXPANDING HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES IN MORE COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE REGION. SAN JOSE BECAME THE FOCUS OF THESE EFFORTS. WE ALSO ADVOCATED DIRECTLY FOR POLICY CHANGES IN SAN JOSE AND OTHER CITIES. THE ACTION FUND ALSO PROVIDED INFORMATION ABOUT HOUSING POLICY-MAKING, COALITION-BUILDING, AND CAMPAIGNING TO CURRENT AND POTENTIAL FUTURE CIVIC LEADERS.LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY - SINCE ITS INCEPTION, SV@HOME HAS CHAMPIONED STATE LEGISLATION THAT SEEKS TO IMPROVE AND EXPAND THE AVAILABILITY OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND RELATED NEEDS. SV@HOME'S LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY AGENDA RANGES FROM PARTICIPATING IN LOBBYING DAYS OF ACTION WITH PARTNERS, CONVENING ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS WITH LOCAL AND STATE ELECTED AND CIVIC LEADERS AS WELL AS ENGAGING IN REGIONAL PRO-HOUSING COALITIONS.PRE-ELECTION YEAR PREPARATION - THE ACTION FUND PREPARED FOR THE 2022 ELECTION YEAR BY RESEARCHING POTENTIAL BALLOT MEASURES AND CANDIDATES. THIS COMPRISED LESS THAN 10% OF ACTION FUND STAFF TIME AND EXPENDITURES IN 2021.
