Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

TO CREATE YOUTH BASED PROGRAMS, OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES THAT ELIMINATE SOCIO-ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO LIVING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. OUR GOAL IS TO BUILD AWARENESS AND PARTICIPATION THROUGH INNOVATIVE YOUTH ATHLETIC, ARTIST AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN THE YEAR OF 2020, COMOTION WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE TO GROW AND PROVIDE SERVICES AND SUPPORT FOR OUR IMMEDIATE AND EXTENDED COMMUNITY. THROUGH DONATIONS AND GRANTS WE CONTINUED TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS VIRTUALLY AND WHEN PERMITTED, IN PERSON FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS. THROUGH THESE SCHOLARSHIPS, FAMILIES WERE ABLE TO MAINTAIN PHYSICAL AND MENTAL OUTLETS AND EXERCISE. WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE OVER 450 FREE FITNESS CLASSES IN 2020.

COMOTION PROVIDED HELP THROUGH PROVIDING VIRTUAL STREAMING EQUIPMENT TO ITS MEMBERS. THIS EQUIPMENT PLAYED A MAJOR ROLE IN HELPING INDIVIDUALS AND COLLECTIVE ORGANIZATIONS CONTINUE RUNNING THEIR BUSINESS AND KEEP AFLOAT DURING THE PANDEMIC. WITHOUT THIS EQUIPMENT, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO ADAPT TO THE WAY FITNESS CLASSES AND EDUCATION SEMINARS WERE BEING RUN IN 2020.

ONGOING PROGRAMMING THROUGH THE PANDEMIC AND FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF GEORGE FLOYD, OUR TEAM DEVELOPED AND ENGAGED OVER 50 YOUTH TO DEVELOP A MENTORSHIP PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS OF COLOR BOTH MALE AND FEMALE.

COMOTION DONATED MORE THAN 125 HOURS OF DANCE AND REHEARSAL SPACE IN ITS PERFORMANCE STUDIO TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT LOST THEIR SPACE AND/OR COULD NOT AFFORD A PERFORMANCE SPACE TO DO VIRTUAL PERFORMANCES AND CLASSES. OUR FOUNDATION WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE COVID RELIEF SUPPORT FOR ITS MEMBERS BY SUPPLEMENTING RENT AND UTILITY COSTS. WITHOUT THIS HELP MANY BUSINESSES WOULD HAVE BEEN AT HIGHER RISK OF SHUTDOWN.
