AMERICORPS: AMERICORPS WORKS WITH BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS IN INDIANA TO PROVIDE SERVICES AND PROGRAMS TO YOUTH THROUGHOUT THE STATE. THE AMERICORPS PROGRAM PROVIDES AT-RISK YOUTH WITH RESOURCES ON EDUCATION AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLES. THIS PROGRAM HAS SERVED OVER 2,663 AMERICORPS MEMBERS SINCE 2008 IN INDIANA. THESE CORPS MEMBERS HAVE SERVED WITH 20,913 VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE PROVIDED OVER 142,957 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE BACK TO THE LOCAL CLUB AND COMMUNITY WITH AMERICORPS MEMBER SUPPORT.
INDIANA VISTA AMERICORPS IS A NETWORK OF LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL SERVICE PROGRAMS THAT CONNECTS OVER 70,000 AMERICANS EACH YEAR IN INTENSIVE SERVICE TO MEET COMMUNITY NEEDS IN SIX KEY AREAS: DISASTER SERVICES, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP, HEALTHY FUTURES, AND VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES. AMERICORPS' MEMBERS SERVE WITH MORE THAN 15,000 NON-PROFITS, PUBLIC AGENCIES, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. AMERICORPS' CONSISTS OF THREE PROGRAMS IN WHICH APPLICANTS MAY ENROLL: (1) VISTA; (2) NCCC; AND (3) AMERICORPS STATE AND NATIONAL. AMERICORPS MEMBERS SERVE FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME OVER A PERIOD OF 3-12 MONTHS DEPENDING ON THEIR PROGRAM MODEL. ON AVERAGE, FULL-TIME MEMBERS WILL SERVE 40 HOURS A WEEK DURING THE COURSE OF THE PROGRAM YEAR, AND PART-TIME MEMBERS WILL SERVE BETWEEN 10-20 HOURS DEPENDING ON THE PARAMETERS OF THEIR PROGRAM. AMERICORPS IS OPEN TO U.S. CITIZENS, NATIONALS, OR LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT ALIENS. AGE RESTRICTIONS VARY BY PROGRAM. AMERICORPS MEMBERS MUST BE AT LEAST 17 YEARS OF AGE, BUT AMERICORPS*VISTA AND AMERICORPS*NCCC REQUIRE THAT YOU ARE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE.
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION: REACH GRANT REIMAGINING ENRICHMENT, ACADEMICS, AND COMMUNITY HEALTH GRANT (REACH) THROUGH THE USE OF ESSER III FUNDING, THE R.E.A.C.H GRANT PROGRAM AIMS TO INCREASE ACCESS TO HIGH-QUALITY OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMMING FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED YOUTH WITH OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, CHARACTER ENRICHMENT, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO COMPLEMENT THE YOUTH'S REGULAR ACADEMIC PROGRAM AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT. THIS GRANT OPPORTUNITY IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR A YEAR-ROUND, HIGH-QUALITY OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME PROGRAM.
