CONSERVATION SAVING PROTECTING RIETFONTEIN FARM ELEPHANTS BRAKLAAGT COMMUNITYTHE RIETFONTEIN FARM GOT RESTORED TO THE COMMUNITY OF BAHURUTSE BOO SEBOGODI IN THE NORTH WEST PROVINCE, SOUTH AFRICA, THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT LAND RESTITUTION PROGRAM. ERP FITTED THE MATRIARCH ELEPHANT WITH A TRACKING COLLAR. THE COLLAR PROVIDES ERP ELEPHANT MONITORS WITH DATA ABOUT THE MOVEMENT OF THE HERD. WHEN THE ELEPHANTS APPROACH A CERTAIN AREA CLOSE TO THE COMMUNITY, IDENTIFIED COMMUNITY MEMBERS, THE RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT AND ERP RECEIVE AN IMMEDIATE NOTIFICATION. THE ELEPHANT MONITORS THAT ARE ON THE GROUND 24/7 THEN REDIRECTS THE ELEPHANTS BACK TO SAFETY. THE ERP FURTHER CONSTRUCTED AN 11-KILOMETRE GAME PROOF FENCE AROUND THE RIETFONTEIN GAME FARM IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO AVOID ANY POTENTIAL ELEPHANTS/COMMUNITY CONFLICT. AS PART OF THIS INTERVENTION, ABOUT 15 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES WERE CREATED FOR THE UNEMPLOYED YOUTH OF THE BRAKLAAGTE COMMUNITY.
BASEBO TRAINING INSTITUTE -ANNUAL CAREER GUIDANCE DAY. ON APRIL 24, 2024, THE BAROKOLOGADI COMMUNAL PROPERTY ASSOCIATION (BCPA), BASEBO TRAINING INSTITUTE (BTI) AND THE P.E.A.C.E. FOUNDATION TRUST HOSTED A SUCCESSFUL CAREER GUIDANCE DAY AT THE BAROKOLOGADI TRIBAL OFFICES IN PITSEDISULEJANG VILLAGE. THIS EVENT BROUGHT TOGETHER 50 LEARNERS FROM THE END USER COMPUTING PROGRAMME, SOME OF THE TOP GRADE 12 LEARNERS FROM OLEFILE SECONDARY SCHOOL, AND VARIOUS INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, EDUCATORS, AND CORPORATE PARTNERS. THE DAY FEATURED AN INSPIRATIONAL KEYNOTE ADDRESS BY ADVOCATE NEO SEPHOTI, PRESENTATIONS ON HIGHER EDUCATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AS WELL AS A FEW INTERACTIVE SESSIONS AIMED AT PROVIDING VALUABLE INSIGHTS INTO EMPLOYABILITY AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH. KEY PARTNERS, INCLUDING THE ALLAN GRAY ORBIS FOUNDATION AND THE FACULTY OF BEST ADVISORY, OFFERED GUIDANCE AND RESOURCES, REINFORCING THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION AND COLLABORATION.
BASEBO TRAINING INSTITUTE:ACCREDITED END USER COMPUTING TRAINING FOR 50 POST MATRIC UNEMPLOYED YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE RURAL VILLAGES OF THE BCPA. THE DECISION TO FOCUS ON THE END USER COMPUTING ACCREDITED PROGRAMME WAS MOTIVATED BY THE BELIEF THAT STUDYING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RELATED LEARNERSHIPS GO BEYOND JOB SECURITY AND FINANCIAL REWARDS. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY NURTURES A MINDSET OF INNOVATION, PROBLEM-SOLVING, AND OUT-OF-THE-BOX THINKING; THESE ARE ALL CRUCIAL SKILLS FOR SHAPING THE FUTURE AND TO REMAIN COMPETITIVE ACROSS THE GLOBAL SCALE. THE GOAL IS TO EMPOWER THE YOUTH WITH IT SKILLS AND TO OFFER DIGNIFIED AND FULFILLING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN THE FOUR BAROKOLOGADI COMMUNAL PROPERTY ASSOCIATION VILLAGES. THE UNPARALLELED SUPPORT AND FUNDING FROM EPI-USE HAS MADE IT POSSIBLE TO EMPOWER AND UPSKILL 50 POST-MATRIC UNEMPLOYED YOUTH FROM THE FOUR RURAL VILLAGES.
