OUR MISSION AT BIG SKY YOUTH EMPOWERMENT IS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR VULNERABLE TEENAGERS IN THE GALLATIN VALLEY TO EXPERIENCE SUCCESS AND BECOME CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH GROUP MENTORSHIP AND EXPERIENTIAL ADVENTURES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2021, BIG SKY YOUTH EMPOWERMENT WORKED WITH AN AVERAGE OF 148 YOUTH PROVIDING 38,610 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING UTILIZING 51 MENTORS WHO PROVIDED 18,360 HOURS OF SERVICE. YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN 36 WEEKS OF EVENING WORKSHOPS AND 30-WEEKEND ADVENTURES. THE WORKSHOP CURRICULUM FOCUSED ON A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS INCLUDING TRUST, TEAMWORK, COMMUNICATION, COPING SKILLS, GOAL SETTING, INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS, AND ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP. ADVENTURES INCLUDED SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING IN WINTER, ROPE COURSES, ZIP-LINING, WHITEWATER RAFTING, CIRCUS, AND OUTDOOR ROCK CLIMBING IN SUMMER, AND POTTERY, YOGA, PAINTING, INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING, CREATIVE WRITING, AND CULINARY ARTS IN THE FALL.
