TO ENHANCE AND ENRICH THE EDUCATION OF GENERAL STUDIES

COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTION (GRADE K-5) COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTION OFFERS HARDWARE, SOFTWARE, (SUCCESS MAKER AND WATERFORD) AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO PROVIDE SKILLS REINFORCEMENT IN LANGUAGE, ARTS AND MATH FOR K-5 STUDENTS. PROGRAMS PRESENT LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENT REASONING AND RESPONSES. STUDENTS ARE TRACKED AND HAVE MARKED ADVANCES IN SKILL LEVELS THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC YEAR. THE HOLOCAUST PROGRAM IS A COMPUTER ASSISTED PROGRAM IN WHICH STUDENTS ACCESS HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS TESTIMONIES. LESSONS ARE PROVIDED TO ACCOMPANY THE TESTIMONIES AND TEACHERS RECEIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE USE OF TESTIMONIES. ITALAM IS A CAI PROGRAM TO TEACH HEBREW LANGUAGE.


STEM EDUCATION (GRADE 5-12) CIJE TECH HIGH SCHOOL (CTHS): CTHS IS A MULTUI-YEAR COURSE IN SCIENTIFIC AND BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THE PROJECT-BASED CURRICULUM PREPARES STUDENTS FOR CAREERS IN ENGINEERING, PROGRAMMING AND ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY. CIJE PROVIDES EACH CLASS WITH SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS TO SUPPORT THE CURRICULUM AND WITH MENTORING FROM ENGINEERING EXPERTS. CIJE TECH MIDDLE SCHOOL(CTMS): CTMS PROVIDES OVER 30 TEACHING MODULES LINKED TO "NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDSX AND EXPOSES STUDENTS TO FUNDEMENTALS OF ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE. CIJE BYTES(MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL): CIJE BYTES IS A SERIES OF LESSONS IN APPLIED COMPUTER PROGRAMMING. STUDENTS LEARN BASIC CIRUITRY AND PROGRAMMINGUSING A MICRO-PROCESSOR.THIS IS A 9-LESSON COURSE THAT CULMINATES IN STUDENTS CREATING A UNIQUE ROBO-CREATURE THAT HAS MOVEABLE PARTS. E2K PROVIDES A SERIES OF MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE CHALLENGES DESIGNED FOR UPPER ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL SDTUDENTS. INTERACTIVE WHITE BOARDS: CIJE PARTNERS WITH SCHOOLS TO FACILITATE THE PURCHASE OF INTERACTIVE WHITE BOARDS.ADDITIONALLY, WE OFFER TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE USE OF INTERACTIVE WHITE BOARDS. TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: CIJE PROVIDES TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR USING SEVERAL MODALITIES. SCHOOLS ARE ASSIGNED MENTORS WHO WORK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR DIRECTLY WITH TEACHERS IN SUPPORTING THEIR IMPLEMENTATION OF CIJE PROGRAMS. ADDITIONALLY, CIJE HOLDS AN ANNUAL TWO-DAY TEACHER'S CONFERENCE TO PREPARE TEACHERS FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR.
