IN 2021, NJCTL HAD FOUR MAJOR PROGRAM SERVICES: DEVELOPMENT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF FREE OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES (OER) WHICH ARE POSTED ON ITS WEBSITE FOR WORLD-WIDE FREE USE TO SUPPORT THE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF K-12 AND ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE AND COMPUTER SCIENCE; AS WELL AS ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS IN AFRICA. ONLINE COURSES, PRIMARILY BASED ON NJCTLOER, TO TEACH TEACHERS THE CONTENT, AND HOW TO TEACH THE CONTENT, OF THOSE SUBJECTS, AND WHICH CAN BE USED BY CURRENT TEACHERS TO EARN A NEW ENDORSEMENT TO TEACH SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS. ONLINE COURSES, PRIMARILY BASED ON NJCTLOER, ARE NOW BEING OFFERED DIRECTLY TO STUDENTS. FACE-TO-FACE TEACHER TRAINING IN AFRICA, SUPPORTED BY THE WORLD BANK, USING THOSE SAME OER COURSE MATERIALS AND APPROACHES. THE TRANSITION TO ONLINE, FROM FACE-TO-FACE TRAINING IN AFRICA WAS DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC; AFRICA TRAINING IS LIKELY TO REMAIN ONLINE AT LEAST UNTIL JUNE 2023.
