CROWDED FIRE'S ENSEMBLE PRODUCES POETIC, BOLD THEATER CREATED BY NEW AND CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS. WE SEEK TO ENGAGE OUR COMMUNITY BY PRODUCING ADVENTUROUS WORK,INNOVATIVE IN STRUCTURE, WHICH ADDRESSES THE DIVERSE POLITICAL AND SOCIAL CONCERNS OF OUR AUDIENCES.

MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS: IN 2021, CROWDED FIRE PRODUCED ONE MAINSTAGE THEATRICAL PRODUCTION AT THE POTRERO STAGE -- THE DISPLACED -- WHILE DEVELOPING NEW PLAYS FOR FUTURE YEARS, INCLUDING STAR FINCH'S SHIPPING AND HANDLING, PLUS PLAYS BY SIX OTHER PLAYWRIGHTS IN THE R&D LAB.THESE PLAYS WERE PRODUCED AND DEVELOPED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH THE SUPPORT OF OUR STAFF, GUEST ARTISTS, AND RESIDENT ARTISTS.


ARTISTIC COMMUNITY SUPPORT: CROWDED FIRE ENGAGED ITS ARTISTIC COMMUNITY THROUGH: AN ONLINE AUDITION INTENSIVE, THE IGNITE GRANT PROGRAM FOR THEATER TECHNICIANS AND DESIGNERS, PANEL DISCUSSIONS AND ARTISTIC PRESENTATIONS ON THE COMPANY'S TWITCH STREAM, AND AN IN-PERSON CELEBRATION OF BAY AREA BLACK ARTISTS INCLUDING SIX MICRO-COMMISSIONED ART PERFORMANCES.
