THE GULF COAST SYMPHONY EXISTS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CULTURAL ENRICHMENT OF LEE COUNTY BY PRODUCING AND PERFORMING A BROAD VARIETY OF CONCERTS AND CREATING INNOVATIVE BALANCED PROGRAMS OF PERFORMANCES EVENT COMMUNITY & EDUCATION PROJECT TO REACH THE WIDEST POSSIBLE AUDIENCES.

THE GULF COAST SYMPHONY PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR AREA MUSICIANS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ORCHESTRAL EXPERIENCE AT THE VERY HIGHEST LEVELS. THE ORCHESTRA ENCOURAGES THE GROWTH OF SYMPHONIC MUSIC IN THE GREATER COMMUNITY BY PERFORMING A VARIETY OF CONCERTS EACH YEAR INCLUDING CLASSICAL POPS AND FAMILY EDUCATION CONCERTS. THE GULF COAST SYMPHONY HELPS PROMOTE THE CAREERS OF EMERGING ARTISTS BY FEATURING THEM AS SOLOISTS AT OUR CONCERTS AND IN RECITAL. THESE SAME ARTISTS PARTICIPATE IN THE SYMPHONY'S EDUCATION PROGRAM MUSICAL GATEWAYS OUR IN-SCHOOL PROGRAM AND ALSO IN OTHER LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY. ON MARCH 14 2020 WE WERE FORCED TO SUSPEND OUR OPERATIONS DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC. WE RESUMED ACTIVITIES OPERATING AT 25% CAPACITY IN OCTOBER 2020. WE PERFORMED 7 FALL CONCERTS AT THE BARBARA B. MANN PERFORMING ARTS HALL INCLUDING HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NUTCRACKER USING REDUCED ORCHESTRA.IN JANUARY 2021 WE OPENED OUR NEW MUSIC & ART COMMUNITY CENTER PRESENTING ORCHESTRA CONCERTS 2 MUSICALS OPERA ELIXIR OF LOVE JAZZ CHAMBER MUSIC AND CABARETS. WE ALSO PERFORMED ANOTHER 9 PRODUCTIONS 13 PERFORMANCES AT THE BARBARA B. MANN PERFORMING ARTS HALL. THESE SHOWS INCLUDED PRODUCTIONS OF EVITA & SHE LOVES ME PLUS WELL RECEIVED SYMPHONIC POPS WHERE PRODUCED WHILE STILL OPERATING AT REDUCED CAPACITY AND MUSICIANS AND WITH COVID PROTOCOLS IN PLACE FOR ALL PERFORMERS. IN ALL THE SYMPHONY PRESENTED 58 PERFORMANCES THIS SEASON. UNFORTUNATELY ALL OUR COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND SCHOOL-BASED PROGRAMS WERE STILL SUSPENDED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC AND COVID RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE.
