HOLSTON UNITED METHODIST HOME FOR CHILDREN PROVIDES HOPE AND HEALING FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE BY SHARING THE LOVE OF JESUS WITH CHILDREN AND FAMILIES STRUGGLING WITH LIFE'S CHALLENGES.

WILEY CENTER IS A 30-BED RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM FOR BOYS. HERE, YOUTH ARE HELPED IN TWO RESIDENCE HALLS, KENT BEWLEY HOME FOR BOYS & RODNEY ATKINS HOME FOR BOYS. EACH IS DESIGNED TO HOUSE UP TO 20 YOUTH. THIS IS A HIGHLY STRUCTURED PROGRAM FOR ADOLESCENT BOYS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 11 AND 18. OTHER KEY COMPONENTS OF SERVICE INCLUDE CHRISTIAN LIFE ACTIVITIES, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELING, FAMILY COUNSELING, ALCOHOL AND DRUG EDUCATION, ADVENTURE-BASED COUNSELING, ADAPTIVE LIVING AND INDEPENDENT-LIVING SKILLS TRAINING.


GIRLS RESIDENTIAL SERVES ADOLESCENT GIRLS AGES 13 TO 18 WHO REQUIRE A HIGHLY STRUCTURED GROUP-LIVING PROGRAM AT HULL RESIDENCE AND BEWLEY CENTER. YOUTH ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM HAVE MODERATE TO SEVERE BEHAVIORAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL DIFFICULTIES. OTHER KEY COMPONENTS OF SERVICE INCLUDE CHRISTIAN LIFE ACTIVITIES, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELING, FAMILY COUNSELING, ALCOHOL AND DRUG EDUCATION, ADVENTURE-BASED COUNSELING, ADAPTIVE LIVING AND INDEPENDENT-LIVING SKILLS TRAINING.


RIVER ACADEMY IS A PRIVATE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL HOUSED IN THE CUNNINGHAM CENTER ON THE MAIN CAMPUS OF HOLSTON HOME. RIVER ACADEMY IS DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN WHO MAY BE HAVING TROUBLE SUCCEEDING IN SCHOOL OR IN THE COMMUNITY. RIVER ACADEMY OFFERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE, INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, AND PERSONAL WORTH THAT WILL ALLOW HIM OR HER TO DISCOVER NEW AND MORE POSITIVE WAYS TO RELATE TO THE WORLD. A MINISTRY OF HOLSTON UNITED METHODIST HOME FOR CHILDREN, RIVER ACADEMY AND THE QUILLEN DAY TREATMENT PROGRAM GUIDE STUDENTS TOWARD SOCIAL, BEHAVIORAL, ACADEMIC, AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING. STAFF MEMBERS WORK WITH STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILY ON INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS OF INSTRUCTION THAT GUIDE YOUNG PEOPLE INTO NEW DIRECTIONS. WE ARE LICENSED BY THE STATE OF TENNESSEE TO TEACH STUDENTS FROM KINDERGARTEN TO SENIORS IN HIGH SCHOOL.
