GRAYSON COUNTY ALLIANCE'S MISSION IS TO REACH OUT TO HELP THE CITIZENS OF GRAYSON COUNTY, KENTUCKY BY PROVIDING SERVICES THAT ARE OTHERWISE NOT AVAILABLE. THIS IS DONE BY PROVIDING BLENDED AND ACCESSIBLE HUMAN SERVICES THAT WILL ENABLE NEEDY PEOPLE TO PROGRESS TOWARD SELF-SUFFICIENCY, STABILITY AND SAFETY. WE STRIVE TO ACHIEVE FOOD SECURITY, ENCOURAGE FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE, AND NURTURE HEALTHY FAMILIES THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, MENTORING AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.

THE ALLIANCE FOOD PANTRY IS THE ONLY PROGRAM IN THE COUNTY WHICH OFFERS USDA COMMODITIES, COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM (CSFP) FOODS, AND BACKPACK FOOD SERVICES FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN DEEMED AT RISK. IF THE ALLIANCE COULD NOT PROVIDE THESE SERVICES, THERE WOULD BE MANY PEOPLE IN GRAYSON COUNTY GOING TO BED HUNGRY EVERY NIGHT. IN 2021, THE FOOD PANTRY PROVIDED FOOD AND LIKE SERVICES TO 21,690 HOUSEHOLDS (THIS INCLUDES BOTH ONE-TIME ONLY AND MONTHLY PARTICIPANTS) AND SPONSORED 237 CHILDREN IN THE BACKPACK PROGRAM.
