TO EMPOWER SOUTHWEST FLORIDAS DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING CITIZENS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES SIGN LANGUAGE COURSES TO FAMILY MEMBERS OF DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING CITIZENS AND TO OTHERS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO SENDS DEAF ADULTS INTO HOMES WITH DEAF CHILDREN TO TEACH THE PARENTS HOW TO READ BOOKS TO THEM IN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE.


THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES QUALIFIED SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS TO PROVIDE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING CITIZENS ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE, EDUCATIONAL COURSEWORK, MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE AND OTHER SERVICES.


THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES ADAPTIVE TELEPHONE EQUIPMENT TO DEAF AND HEARING-IMPAIRED CITIZENS AND TO ORGANIZATIONS WHICH PROVIDE SERVICES TO DEAF AND HEARING-IMPAIRED CITIZENS THROUGH BOTH LONG-TERM LOANS AND SALES.
