THE CENTER IS COMPRISED OF A MUSEUM, OMNISPHERE, AQUARIUM, SALES SHOP, TREETOP ADVENTURE PARK, ZOO AND CAROUSEL. THE CENTER IS COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE IN SCIENCE EDUCATION BY PROVIDING THE COMMUNITY WITH A DYNAMIC, EXPERIENTIAL AND FAMILY-FOCUSED ATTRACTION DESIGNED TO INSPIRE SCIENTIFIC CURIOSITY AND ENCOURAGE PERSONAL DISCOVERY ABOUT LIFE AND THE NATURAL WORLD.

MUSEUM AND ZOO: THE CENTER HAS PERMANENT EXHIBITS AND THE ZOO WHICH ARE OFFERED YEAR ROUND. THE CENTER HAD 417,438 VISITORS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 6/30/21 TO ATTEND THE MUSEUM AND ZOO.


EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: THE CENTER HAD 266 VARIOUS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 6/30/21. THE CENTER OFFERS SUMMER AND FALL CAMPS, PUBLIC PROGRAMS, BEHIND THE SCENE EXPERIENCES, FIELD TRIP PROGRAMS, ACADEMIC PROGRAMS AND DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THE NUMBER OF VISITORS FOR THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WAS 4,312 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 6/30/21.


AQUARIUM: NC'S ONLY CENTER-OF-STATE AQUARIUM WHICH OFFERS A COMPLETE IMMERSION EXPERIENCE. VISITORS CAN ENGAGE WITH ANIMAL KEEPERS AND EDUCATORS TO LEARN ABOUT DIFFERENT SPECIES OF ANIMALS AND FISH. IN ADDITION, BEHIND-THE-SCENES EXPERIENCES AND EDUCATIONAL SCIPODS FOCUS ON THE SCIENCE OF ANIMAL CARE, HUSBANDRY AND WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT. THE WISEMAN AQUARIUM HAD 417,438 VISITORS FOR FISCAL YEAR 6/30/21. THE WISEMAN AQUARIUM EXPANSION OPENED MARCH 2017 AND INCLUDES EVEN GREATER SPECIES DIVERSITY AND ADDITIONAL IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES FOCUSED ON OCEAN CONSERVATION.
