PRESERVATION AND DOCUMENTATION:-AFI COLLECTION: THIS VITAL AND INDISPENSABLE PART OF THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS ARCHIVE CONTINUES TO ACQUIRE AND PRESERVE FILMS AS PART OF ITS ONGOING MISSION TO MAINTAIN AMERICA'S FILM HERITAGE. THE COLLECTION INCLUDES OVER 27,500 TITLES, CONSISTING PRIMARILY OF THEATRICAL FEATURES AND SHORTS, AS WELL AS SUBSTANTIAL NUMBERS OF NEWSREELS, DOCUMENTARIES AND TELEVISION PROGRAMS.-AFI CATALOG: THIS DEFINITIVE ONLINE DATABASE SETS THE STANDARD AS THE SOURCE FOR ACCURATE INFORMATION ON THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF AMERICAN FILM.
