2021: YEAR IN REVIEW87,600 INDIVIDUALS FROM 22,600 HOUSEHOLDS SERVED THROUGHOUT PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY, MD AND DETROIT, MI.124,213 POUNDS OF EMERGENCY FOOD, AND52,130 POUNDS OF FRESH PRODUCE PROVIDED TO 23,728 INDIVIDUALS IN 5,440 HOUSEHOLDS THROUGH THE SEED FOOD DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN RIVERDALE AND EXCEL FAMILY MARKET IN LANDOVER, MD.8 FOOD PANTRIES IN COUNCILMANIC DISTRICTS 1-4 IN PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY, MD RECEIVED MONTHLY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD ITEMS FROM THE SEED FOOD HUB TO SERVE 14,327 HOUSEHOLDS.120,600 POUNDS OF FOOD PROVIDED TO 1,456 HOUSEHOLDS IN DETROIT, MI.DIAPERS DISTRIBUTED TO 1,596 BABIES IN 1,054 FAMILIES.100 FAMILIES RECEIVED HOLIDAY BASKETS.69 INDIVIDUALS ENROLLED IN HEALTH INSURANCE THROUGH THE MARYLAND HEALTH CONNECTION.87 FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS EDUCATED THROUGH ONLINE COURSE AND VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS. 91 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING.FORECLOSURE PREVENTION COUNSELING WAS PROVIDED TO 12 HOUSEHOLDS. EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM HELPED 28 PEOPLE SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS.THE EXCEL ACADEMY PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOLS NEW LOCATION IS UNDER CONTRACT. THE NEW FACILITY WILL BE READY FOR THE START OF THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR.THE SCHOOL IS POISED TO BEGIN THE INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE AUTHORIZATION PROCESS BEGINNING IN FALL 2022 WITH AN APPLICATION, AND AN AUTHORIZATION VISIT IN SPRING OR FALL 2023. A SCHOOL LIBRARY IS TO BE ESTABLISHED WITH THE INITIAL SHIPMENT OF BOOKS BEEN RECEIVED.
