RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY: IN 2021, PRRAC'S RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY FOCUSED ON HUD REGULATORY REFORM, MORE EFFECTIVE ENFORCEMENT OF SOURCE OF INCOME DISCRIMINATION PROTECTIONS, AND FUNDING OF HOUSING MOBILITY AND SCHOOL DIVERSITY PROGRAMS AT HUD AND THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.


PUBLICATIONS: IN 2021, PRRAC PUBLISHED THREE ISSUES OF ITS JOURNAL POVERTY & RACE, ALONG WITH SEVERAL RESEARCH REPORTS, INCLUDING "PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITIES AND THE NEW CALIFORNIA AFFH LAW: HOW TO SPOT KEY FAIR HOUSING ISSUES AND SET GOALS; "RACIAL JUSTICE IN HOUSING FINANCE: A SERIES ON NEW DIRECTIONS; "THE NATIONAL HOUSING TRUST FUND AND FAIR HOUSING: A SET OF POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS; "WHAT CAN HUD DO TO EXPAND PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY OWNERSHIP OF RENTAL HOUSING?; AND "MIXED INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS AND INTEGRATED SCHOOLS: LINKING HUD'S CHOICE NEIGHBORHOODS INITIATIVE WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION'S MAGNET SCHOOLS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM."


OUTREACH AND EDUCATION: IN 2021, PRRAC PROVIDED ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE TO A NUMBER OF PUBLIC AGENCIES, INCLUDING THE CALIFORNIA HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY, MOBILE HOUSING AUTHORITY, AND SEVERAL PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITIES. PRRAC STAFF ALSO ORGANIZED THE 8TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HOUSING MOBILITY AND PRESENTED AT A NUMBER OF OTHER STATE AND NATIONAL CONFERENCES, INCLUDING NATIONAL CONFERENCES OR WEBINARS OF THE NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION, THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT OFFICIALS, AND ENTERPRISE COMMUNITY PARTNERS.
