THE ONGOING COVID-19 PANDEMIC CONTINUED TO PRESENT AN EVER-CHANGING LANDSCAPE AND UNIQUE SET OF CHALLENGES FOR STEPPENWOLF IN FISCAL 2020/21. TO ENSURE THAT THE THEATRE REMAINS CONNECTED WITH OUR AUDIENCES NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, STEPPENWOLF INITIATED SEVERAL PRECAUTIONS AND PROGRAMS TO ALLOW FOR MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY FOR AND ENGAGEMENT WITH OUR AUDIENCES. IN THE 2020/21 FISCAL YEAR, OUR VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING STREAM, STEPPENWOLF NOW, REACHED NEARLY 8,000 PATRONS REPRESENTING 600 CITIES, ALL 50 STATES, AND 20 COUNTRIES. LAUNCHED IN APRIL 2020, HALF HOUR, STEPPENWOLF'S INTERVIEW-STYLE PODCAST HOSTED BY ENSEMBLE MEMBERS, REACHED 23,906 DOWNLOADS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. WHILE OUR STEPPENWOLF EDUCATION PROGRAMMING TRADITIONALLY REACHES 20,000 TEENS, EDUCATORS, EARLY-CAREER PROFESSIONALS, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ANNUALLY, THE 2020/21 SEASON SAW AN EXPLOSION OF VIRTUAL ENGAGEMENT, REACHING OVER 45,000 THROUGH OUR STEPPENWOLF FOR YOUNG ADULTS (SYA) SEASON.
