TO PROMOTE EYE HEALTH AND VISION CARE AS A HUMAN RIGHT. THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE EYECARE SERVICES AND IS INTENDED TO FACILITATE THE DEVELOPMENT OF OPTOMETRY AND OPTOMETRISTS AROUND THE WORLD.

THROUGH THE STRENGTHENING THE VOICE OF OPTOMETRY PROJECT THE WORLD COUNCIL OF OPTOMETRY WORKED TO ACHIEVE A STRONG VOICE FOR OPTOMETRY GLOBALLY; CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND RECOGNITION OF OPTOMETRY IN VARIOUS REGIONS AROUND THE WORLD; AND WORKED TO ENHANCE THE ABILITIES AND SKILLS OF OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATIONS AND THEIR REGIONAL BODIES TO EFFECTIVELY ADDRESS AND INFLUENCE THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPACT OF OPTOMETRY
