Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2021, STILL BECAUSE OF THE COVID PANDEMIC, NO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM PROGRAMMING WAS PLANNED. OUTREACH AMONG AND MOBILIZATION OF BLACK CLERGY IN THE 2021 FISCAL YEAR LARGELY HAPPENED WITH THE ADVENT OF THE TENPOINT PHILADELPHIA COALITION - A VIOLENCE REDUCTION VENTURE ENTERED INTO IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE MOUNT AIRY CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST AND OTHER ENTITIES IN THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA. HOWEVER, DESPITE THE PANDEMIC AND MOTIVATED BY OUR UNCOMPROMISING COMMITMENT TO THE POOR, THE SEYMOUR INSTITUTE PERSISTED IN ITS MISSION TO ADDRESS THE GREATER VULNERABILITY OF ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED POPULATIONS TO THE HARMS THAT ARISE FROM IMPROPER SOCIETAL ACTION. THIS WAS PRIMARILY ADDRESSED THROUGH THE ANNUAL ACADEMIC SUMMER PROGRAMS WHICH SERVE DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS IN THE BOSTON AREA. THESE PROGRAMS WERE CONDUCTED IN-PERSON AND WERE INTENDED NOT ONLY TO REDUCE THE USUAL SUMMER SLIDE BUT ALSO TO ADDRESS THE GRAVE DROP IN LEARNING OCCASIONED BY THE PANDEMIC. ADDITIONALLY, THE SUMMER PROGRAMS ADDRESSED THE DECLINE IN INCOME EARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR DISADVANTAGED HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH. THE INSTITUTE CONTINUED ITS RESEARCH IN POST-SECULAR SCIENCE VIA ON-LINE SEMINARS HAVING CHOSEN NOT TO RESUME IN-PERSON MEETINGS AS THE PANDEMIC ENDURED.
