THE ZOO CARES FOR MORE THAN 650 ENDANGERED AND EXOTIC ANIMALS; WELCOMED NEARLY 250,000 VISITORS IN THE CURRENT YEAR, AND EDUCATED AROUND 40,000 PEOPLE THROUGH ON-SITE AND OUTREACH EDUCATION. THE ZOO ALSO FEATURES A RARE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF 150 MOUNTED ANIMALS,INCLUDING 38 VANISHING SPECIES, IN THE DELBRIDGE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY. OPTIMAL ANIMAL CARE, CONSERVATION, AND EDUCATION ARE PARAMOUNT TO OUR MISSION , THE ZOO'S PARTICPATES IN CONSERVATION PROGRAMS BOTH LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY TO SAVE WILD SPECIES AND SPACES. THE ZOO'S ANIMALS INCLUDE SNOW LEOPARDS, TIGERS, RHINOS, GIRAFFES, ZEBRAS, AND MULTIPLE PRIMATE SPECIES. THE SOCIETY MANAGES AND OPERATES THE ZOO THROUGH A FORMAL PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF SIOUX FALLS.
