PARTNER WITH RC&D COUNCILS IN MINNESOTA TO STRENGTHEN THE RC&D PROGRAM, ACHIEVE NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION, AND IMPACT COMMUNITY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT.

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2020 MARCD BEGAN WORKING WITH THE UMN-NRRI AS A COMMUNITY PARTNER APPLYING FOR A UMN, IONE GRANT TO RESEARCH AND HELP MARGINAL MN LANDOWNERS PARTICIPATE IN AND BENEFIT FROM FORESTRY CARBON MARKETS. IN 2021 FUNDS TOTALING $11,550 WERE PASSED THROUGH FROM NRRI TO MARCD TO LAURENTIAN RC&D AND HIAWATHA VALLEY RC&D WHO COMPLETED THE WORK ON A FEE FOR SERVICE BASIS. THE MARCD CLIMATE FORWARD REFORESTATION PROGRAM BEGUN IN 2022 IS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE IONE PROJECT.
