THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF ALBERT LEA, MINNESOTA, INC. PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY.

GOALS: YOUTH DEVELOPMENT - OUR YMCA IS COMMITTED TO NURTURING THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY CHILD AND TEEN. WE BELIEVE THAT ALL KIDS DESERVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE. THAT IS WHY WE HELP LEAD TO POSITIVE BEHAVIORS, BETTER HEALTH, AND EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT. OUR YMCA PROGRAMS, SUCH AS OUR OUT OF SCHOOL TIME CARE AND DAY CAMP OFFER A RANGE OF EXPERIENCES THAT ENRICH COGNITIVE, SOCIAL, PHYSICAL, AND EMOTIONAL GROWTH. EXPENSE INCLUDE SUBSIDIES AND DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THAT MAKE PARTICIPATION POSSIBLE FOR 100 PERCENT OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE WE ENGAGE. THE ALBERT LEA FAMILY YMCA WORKS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT AND OTHER SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS TO CONNECT WITH ALL FAMILIES. HEALTHY LIVING - THE Y IS A LEADING VOICE ON HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. WE BRING FAMILIES CLOSER TOGETHER, ENCOURAGE GOOD HEALTH, FOSTER CONNECTIONS THROUGH FITNESS, SPORTS, FUN, AND SHARED INTERESTS. AS A RESULT, PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY ARE RECEIVING THE SUPPORT, GUIDANCE, AND RESOURCES THEY NEED TO ACHIEVE GREATER HEALTH IN SPIRIT, MIND, AND BODY. THIS IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT AS OUR NATION STRUGGLES WITH AN OBESITY CRISIS, FAMILIES STRUGGLE WITH WORK/LIFE BALANCE, AND INDIVIDUALS SEARCH FOR PERSONAL FULFILLMENT. OUR PROGRAMS ARE ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE, AND OPEN TO ALL FAITHS, BACKGROUNDS, ABILITIES, AND INCOME LEVELS. (OVER 470 FAMILIES) IN 2021. WE PROVIDED $140,000 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO YOUTH, ADULTS AND FAMILIES WHO OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE FACED ECONOMIC BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATION. THE ALBERT LEA FAMILY YMCA WORKS CLOSELY WITH SENIORS PROVIDING SOCIAL AND OPPORTUNITIES. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY- OUR YMCA BELIEVES IN GIVING BACK AND SUPPORTING OUR NEIGHBORS. WE HAVE BEEN LISTENING AND RESPONDING TO OUR COMMUNITY'S SOCIAL NEEDS FOR MORE THAN 108 YEARS. Y PROGRAMS, SUCH AS NUTRITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR SENIORS IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW WE DELIVER RESOURCES, AND SUPPORT THAT EMPOWER OUR SENIORS TO EFFECT CHANGE, BRIDGE GAPS, AND OVERCOME OBSTACLES FOR THEIR WELL-BEING. THE ALBERT LEA FAMILY YMCA COLLABORATES WITH THE COMMUNITY TO ENSURE PERMANENT, POSITIVE CHANGE.
