WISCONSIN ASSOCIATION OF FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S AGENCIES, INC. (WAFCA) PROMOTES PUBLIC POLICY, BEST PRACTICE, AND PARTNERSHIPS THAT SUPPORT OUR MEMBER AGENCIES IN PURSUING THEIR MISSION TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF FAMILIES AND CHILDREN IN WISCONSIN. OUR MEMBER AGENCIES PROVIDE A WIDE ARRAY OF PREVENTION AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES SUCH AS FOSTER CARE, IN-HOME SUPPORT, COUNSELING, AND MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT.

WAFCA REPRESENTS 45 CHILD AND FAMILY SERVING AGENCIES AND LEADERS IN THE FIELD AND ADVOCATES FOR THE MORE THAN 200,000 INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THAT THEY SERVE EACH YEAR. THE ASSOCIATION ORGANIZES TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR ITS MEMBERS AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL GROUPS. THESE PROGRAMS ARE PRESENTED BY NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CONSULTANTS AND INSTRUCTORS. WAFCA IS AN APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION PROVIDER OF THE NATIONAL BOARD OF CERTIFIED COUNSELORS. TRAININGS PROVIDED TO THE SECTOR INCLUDE SUCH TOPICS AS FAMILY SYSTEMS THERAPY, TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICE, AND MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOR PRIVATE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE AGENCY EXECUTIVES AND DIRECTORS. DURING THE YEAR THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED THREE MEMBER INFORMATIONAL CONFERENCES AND FOURTEEN TRAINING SESSIONS FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS.
