ROOTS AND WINGS PROVIDES AFTERSCHOOL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR 1ST THROUGH 4TH GRADE PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS STRUGGLING WITH READING SKILLS, & HOSTS AN AWARD PROGRAM FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS & STAFF WHO PROVIDE A SUPERIOR LEARNING ENVIRONMENT.

Part 3 - Line 4a
PROJECT UPLIFT BEGAN IN THE FALL OF THE 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR AS A 3RD GRADE AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM TO HELP 30 STRUGGLING READERS LEARN THE BASICS. WE ARE NOW IN 8 SCHOOLS, HELPING UP TO A TOTAL OF 540 TITLE ONE STUDENTS IN 1ST-4TH GRADES IN BOCA RATON, DELRAY BEACH AND BOYNTON BEACH.
THE ABOVE AND BEYOND TEACHER AND STAFF RECOGNITION PROGRAM BEGAN IN 2016 AS A FUN, CELEBRATORY WAY TO HONOR THE HARD WORK OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS TEACHERS WHO OFTEN GO UNRECOGNIZED. THE PRINCIPALS OF EACH OF THE SCHOOLS PICK THE WINNERS, MANY TIMES WITH THE HELP OF FACULTY AND STAFF. MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF ROOTS AND WINGS, ALONG WITH DONORS, COMMUNITY LEADERS AND INTERESTED MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY ATTEND THESE AWARD PRESENTATIONS. WE HAVE HONORED OVER 1,000 TEACHERS AND STAFF SINCE ITS INCEPTION.
KOP MENTORING NETWORK HAS A PROGRAM CALLED STARMAKERS, AN IMPACTFUL STREAM- RICH AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM FOR 30 STUDENTS IN 4TH AND 5TH GRADES AT ORCHARD VIEW ELEMENTARY, MEETING FOR 2 HOURS, 3 DAYS A WEEK AFTER PROJECT UPLIFT. ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES INCLUDED AVIATION, COMMUNICATION, FINANCIAL LITERACY, THE ARTS, HOME ECONOMICS, ROBOTICS AND HORTICULTURE.
