HEALTHY WATERSHEDS: THROUGH PROGRAM INVESTMENTS IN NONPROFIT AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AS WELL AS CONSULTANTS, THE HEALTHY WATERSHEDS PROGRAM IS ADVANCING SOLUTIONS THAT SUSTAIN AND RESTORE FRESHWATER ECOSYSTEMS AND BUILD CLIMATE RESILIENCE. WATER FOUNDATION GRANTS SUPPORTED WORK IN CALIFORNIA, THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, AND NEW MEXICO, INCLUDING ADVOCACY AND POLICY LEADERSHIP BY THE GROUNDWATER LEADERSHIP FORUM, A GROUP OF NONPROFIT AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS DEDICATED TO FAIR AND EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF CALIFORNIA'S SUSTAINABLE GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT ACT; ADVOCACY AND ORGANIZING TO PROTECT AND RESTORE THE SALTON SEA; COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS IN THE SNAKE RIVER BASIN TO ADVANCE TRIBAL JUSTICE AND ABUNDANT SALMON, AND COMMUNITY-LED EFFORTS IN NEW MEXICO TOWARD OUTSTANDING WATERS PROTECTIONS.


HEALTHY COMMUNITIES: THROUGH PROGRAM INVESTMENTS IN NONPROFIT AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AS WELL AS CONSULTANTS, THE HEALTHY COMMUNITIES PROGRAM IS ADVANCING SOLUTIONS THAT SECURE SAFE DRINKING WATER AND BUILD CLIMATE RESILIENCE. WATER FOUNDATION GRANTS SUPPORTED WORK IN CALIFORNIA AND NEW MEXICO, AS WELL AS NATIONALLY, INCLUDING A CALIFORNIA COALITION LEADING ON THE HUMAN RIGHT TO WATER; THE OURWATERLA COALITION'S ORGANIZING AND ADVOCACY WORK TO ESTABLISH EQUITABLE AND NATURE-BASED INFRASTRUCTURE IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY; AND RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS TO HELP NEW MEXICO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND POLICYMAKERS ADVANCE DRINKING WATER SOLUTIONS. THE WATER FOUNDATION IS ALSO SUPPORTING NATIONAL MOVEMENT-BUILDING ON SAFE AND AFFORDABLE WATER AND WATER INFRASTRUCTURE.


WATER TABLE: THE WATER TABLE IS A COLLABORATIVE OF FUNDERS WHO BELIEVE IN A SHARED VISION OF A SUSTAINABLE WATER FUTURE. TABLE MEMBERS ALIGN AND POOL FUNDING FOR TRANSFORMATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR WATER CHALLENGES THAT WILL BRING SYSTEMIC CHANGE. SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 2016, THE WATER TABLE HAS ALIGNED OVER $500 MILLION TO WATER SOLUTIONS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MORE THAN 150 FUNDERS AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS. THE WATER FOUNDATION INTEGRATED WITH THE WATER TABLE IN EARLY 2022 TO INTRODUCE NEW SOURCES OF CAPITAL, RELATIONSHIPS, AND EXPERTISE, AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIND NEW WAYS OF WORKING ACROSS ISSUES AND GEOGRAPHIES. THE WATER TABLE AND WATER FOUNDATION ARE COMMITTED TO ADDING RESOURCES AND STRENGTHENING COORDINATION AMONG FUNDERS AND PARTNERS IN THE FIELD, AND TO FURTHER INCORPORATING THE PRINCIPLES OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION.


TRANSITIONING STRATEGIES: IN 2021, WATER FOUNDATION GRANTS ALSO HELPED LAUNCH THE CALIFORNIA WATER DATA CONSORTIUM AND ESTABLISH AN EMERGING FEDERAL POLICY PROGRAM THAT BUILDS THE POLITICAL WILL FOR PUBLIC INVESTMENTS IN CLEAN DRINKING WATER, WATER INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS, AND ESSENTIAL WATERSHEDS RESTORATION.
