TO SERVE THE SAN BRUNO COMMUNITY BY INVESTING IN PROJECTS, PROGRAMS, SERVICES, AND FACILITIES THAT HAVE SIGNIFICANT AND LASTING BENEFITS. THROUGH MAKING GRANTS, LEVERAGING PARTNERSHIPS, AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OTHER RESOURCES, THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTS AND ENABLES THE COMMUNITY TO MAXIMIZE SHARED INVESTMENTS AND REALIZE THEIR SUBSEQUENT ENHANCEMENTS AND BENEFITS.

THROUGH THE CRESTMOOR NEIGHBORHOOD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP, THE FOUNDATION HONORS THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO MOST DIRECTLY ENDURED THE DESTRUCTION OF THE SEPTEMBER 9, 2010, GAS PIPELINE EXPLOSION AND INVESTS IN SAN BRUNO'S NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS. IN 2022, THE FOUNDATION AWARDED COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS TO TWELVE SAN BRUNO STUDENTS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED A STRONG COMMITMENT TO THE SAN BRUNO COMMUNITY.


AS PART OF ITS STRATEGIC GRANTMAKING EFFORTS, THE FOUNDATION IDENTIFIES AND PROACTIVELY ADDRESSES SPECIFIC COMMUNITY NEEDS THROUGH INVESTMENTS IN PROGRAMS, PROJECTS, AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES. IN 2021-2022, THE FOUNDATION AWARDED TWO STRATEGIC GRANTS TO THE CITY OF SAN BRUNO RELATED TO THE SAN BRUNO RECREATION AND AQUATIC CENTER PROJECT (FOR CONSTRUCTION), AND COMMUNITY DAY 2022, ONE GRANT TO THE CAPUCHINO HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (FOR MUSIC EDUCATION STRATEGIC INITIATIVE), ONE GRANT TO SAN BRUNO EDUCATION FOUNDATION (FOR MUSIC EDUCATION STRATEGIC INITIATIVE), AND ONE GRANT TO THE TANFORAN ASSEMBLY CENTER MEMORIAL COMMITTEE (FOR THE TANFORAN MEMORIAL).


THE COMMUNITY GRANTS FUND ENABLES LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO APPLY FOR GRANTS OF UP TO $25,000 FOR PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS BENEFITING THE SAN BRUNO COMMUNITY. IN THE PROGRAM'S SIXTH YEAR, THE FOUNDATION AWARDED 24 GRANTS TOTALING $310,000.
