THE CENTRAL INDIANA LAND TRUST, INC. PRESERVES THE BEST OF CENTRAL INDIANA'S NATURAL AREAS, PROTECTING PLANTS AND ANIMALS, SO HOOSIERS CAN EXPERIENCE THE WONDER OF THE STATE'S NATURAL HERITAGE.

THE CENTRAL INDIANA LAND TRUST, INC. (CILTI) PRESERVES THE BEST OF CENTRAL INDIANA'S NATURAL AREAS, PROTECTING PLANTS AND ANIMALS, SO HOOSIERS CAN EXPERIENCE THE WONDER OF THE STATE'S NATURAL HERITAGE. CILTI OWNS 1,688 ACRES. CILTI ALSO HAS 2,928 ACRES UNDER CONSERVATION AGREEMENT, COMPRISED OF CONSERVATION EASEMENTS AND MANAGEMENT AGREEMENTS. IN ADDITION, CILTI HAS PROVIDED ASSISTANCE IN PROTECTING ANOTHER 2,800 ACRES, MAKING OUR TOTAL ACRES PROTECTED THROUGHOUT THE REGION ALMOST 6,800 ACRES. IN 2021, CILTI ASSISTED THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES IN THE PROTECTION OF AN 82 ACRE ADDITION THOMASTOWN BOTTOMS NATURE PRESERVE IN SCOTT COUNTY. WE ALSO PROTECTED A 292 ACRE FOREST IN VERMILLION COUNTY FOR ENDANGERED INDIANA BAT HABITAT. ADDITIONALLY, WE OBTAINED A 7 ACRE ADDITION TO THE WALLACE F. HOLLADAY PRESERVE IN MARION CO. DURING THE YEAR, CILTI BEGAN THE EVERGREEN FUND FOR FORESTS, A RESTRICTED REVOLVING FUND FOR TREE PLANTING AND PLANTED 8,000 TOWARDS OUR MILLION TREE GOAL.


THROUGH ITS STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM, THE LAND TRUST UNDERTOOK SEVERAL LAND MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES INCLUDING INVASIVE SPECIES CONTROL AND HABITAT RESTORATION AT SITES THROUGHOUT CENTRAL INDIANA.


THROUGH ITS EDUCATION PROGRAMS, THE LAND TRUST MADE PRESENTATIONS, ATTENDED CONFERENCES, AND EXHIBITED AT VARIOUS EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE REGION TO PROMOTE CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCE PROTECTION.
