THE MISSION OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA IS TO PREPARE YOUNG PEOPLE TO MAKE ETHICAL AND MORAL CHOICES OVER THEIR LIFETIMES BY INSTILLING IN THEM THE VALUES OF THE SCOUT OATH AND LAW.

THE PROGRAM USES OUTDOOR SKILLS, A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS AS MECHANISMS FOR BUILDING CONFIDENCE AS SCOUTS GROW AND DEVELOP INTO ADULTS. THE COUNCIL SERVES APPROXIMATELY 18,000 YOUNG PEOPLE.
