HEALING ART MISSIONS EXISTS TO SUPPORT THOSE IN NEED AROUND THE WORLD, ESPECIALLY IN THE AREAS OF HEALTH, NUTRITION, EDUCATION, HOUSING, AND SOCIAL JUSTICE.

FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS, HEALING ART MISSIONS (HAM) HAS WORKED WITH THE DUMAY COMMUNITY IN HAITI TO PROVIDE ACCESSIBLE PRIMARY COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE TO A POPULATION OF 20,000, PRIMARILY THROUGH ITS CENTER FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH IN DUMAY. THIS CLINIC PROVIDED LOW-COST OR FREE MEDICAL CARE TO 14,103 PATIENTS DURING 2021, AT A COST TO PATIENTS OF $2.00 PER VISIT, INCLUDING PRESCRIPTIONS,719 PROCEDURES PERFORMED, INCLUDING MAJOR SURGICAL PROCEDURE DONE WHILE TRAINING SURGICAL RESIDENTS, 2504 PATIENT VACCINATIONS GIVEN, THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS VACCINATED FOR COVID AS SOON AS THE GOV. MADE VACCINES AVAILABLE TO U, AND 902 VISITS WERE COMPLETELY IN THE FAMILY PLANNING PROGRAM. 8,613 LABORATORY TESTS WERE ALSO PERFORMED AT THE CLINIC, WITH PATIENTS PAYING ONLY THE COST OF THE TEST MATERIALS UNLESS THEY COULD NOT AFFORD IT, IN WHICH CASE THE TESTS WERE AT A REDUCED RATE OR FREE. 298 EYE EXAMS WERE PERFORMED. THERE WERE 1,471 VISITS TO THE SAFE BIRTHING PROGRAM, AND 104 HEALTHY DELIVERIES COMPLETED.
THE CHARLES SALOMON SCHOOL (FORMERLY HOPE FOR THE CHILDREN OF HAITI SCHOOL), PORT-DE-PAIX: HAM FUNDED ALL THE STAFF SALARIES FOR THIS SCHOOL, WHICH PROVIDED PRIMARY EDUCATION IN A POOR NEIGHBORHOOD FOR 368 CHILDREN, PRESCHOOL THROUGH THE 9TH GRADE. DURING 2021, AN ADULT LITERACY PROGRAM SERVED TWO LEVELS OF CLASSES WITH 57 ADULT STUDENTS.
