ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF GREATER CINCINNATI (THE CHAPTER) IS A NONPROFIT PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION WHICH ENGAGES IN PHILANTHROPIC SERVICE PROJECTS IN THE GREATER CINCINNATI AREA.

OPERATION SCHOOL BELL ASSISTANCE LEAGUE'S SIGNATURE PROGRAM, RECENTLY BROADENED ITS SCOPE OF SERVICES TO ADDRESS NOT ONLY CLOTHING, BUT ALSO HEALTH, LITERACY, SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND HUNGER NEEDS. AS A RESULT, THROUGHOUT GREATER CINCINNATI, 8,416 STUDENTS AT 45 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND ONE SUMMER ENRICHMENT SCHOOL RECEIVED CLOTHING, PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND/OR BOOKS THIS YEAR. CLOTHING INCLUDED SHIRTS, PANTS, BELTS, FLEECE JACKETS, UNDERWEAR, SOCKS AND PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS INCLUDING DEODORANT, TOOTHBRUSHES, TOOTHPASTE AND SANITARY PADS. SINCE THE PROGRAM BEGAN LOCALLY IN 1998, THE CHAPTER HAS ASSISTED 61,072 ELEMENTARY GRADE STUDENTS.


NEW BEGINNINGS - CHAPTER MEMBERS, COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS AND DONORS PURCHASE ESSENTIAL HOUSEHOLD ITEMS FOR ADULTS, AND CHILDREN. THESE 47 ITEM KITS ARE DIVIDED INTO CLEANING, BED/ BATH, AND KITCHEN SETS FOR ADULTS, AND ESSENTIAL BEDDING AND HYGIENE KITS FOR CHILDREN. THEY ARE DISTRIBUTED TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO ARE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND LEAVING SHELTERS TO ESTABLISH A HOME AWAY FROM THEIR ABUSERS. IN THE PAST YEAR, 150 WOMEN AND 116 CHILDREN WERE SERVED AT FIVE SHELTERS IN HAMILTON, CLERMONT, WARREN AND BUTLER COUNTIES IN OHIO, AND ONE IN KENTON COUNTY, NORTHERN KENTUCKY. SINCE THIS PROGRAM BEGAN IN 2010, 1,877 ADULTS AND 1,832 CHILDREN HAVE BENEFITTED FROM THIS PROGRAM.


AL CARES 4 KIDS (FORMERLY KINSHIP FOSTER CARE ) - STARTED IN 2017 AS A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CINCINNATI CHILDREN'S CHECK FOSTER CARE CENTER, THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES SCREENING, EVALUATION AND UP-TO-DATE EVIDENCE-BASED CLINICAL CARE FOR THE CHILDREN LIVING IN FOSTER AND KINSHIP CARE IN HAMILTON COUNTY. JACK'S CLOSET PROVIDES RECYCLED CLOTHING TO FOSTER AND KINSHIP CARE CHILD FAMILIES. THESE 2 ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE PACKAGES OF NEW UNDERGARMENTS, SOCKS, DIAPERS, BABY WIPES AND HYGIENE SUPPLIES MONTHLY, DEPENDING ON THEIR NEED. WE PROVIDED 5,281 PACKAGES OF CLOTHING TO 2,054 CHILDREN LAST YEAR. SINCE ITS INCEPTION 5,231 CHILDREN HAVE BENEFITTED FROM THIS DISTRIBUTION.


COLLEGE STARTER KITS - TWO SCHOOLS DISTRIBUTED 250 OF THESE KITS. ASSUALT SURVIVOR KITS-353 KITS WERE DELIVERED THIS PAST YEAR. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE KITS-285 ADULTS WERE SERVED THIS PAST YEAR
