THE MISSION OF THE YOUTH SERVICES BUREAU OF HUNTINGTON COUNTY IS TO PROVIDE QUALITY, COMPREHENSIVE, EMPOWERING PROGRAMS, AND SERVICES TO ASSIST YOUTH AND FAMILIES AS THEY ENCOUNTER CHALLENGES ASSOCIATED WITH CHILDHOOD, ADOLESCENCE, AND EARLY ADULTHOOD.

Part 3 - Line 4a

SAFE PLACE/HOST HOME - RUNAWAY AND HOMELESS YOUTH SERVICES ARE PROVIDED THROUGH THE SAFE PLACE/HOST HOME PROGRAM. SAFE PLACES PRIMARY FOCUS IS SHORT TERM CRISIS INTERVENTION WHILE THE RUNAWAY AND HOMELESS YOUTH (BASIC CENTER FOR FUNDING HOST HOMES) PROGRAMS SERVICE AND OUTREACH TO ADDRESS, PREVENTION AND SERVE YOUTH WHO ARE OR MAY BE AT RISK OF BECOMING HOMELESS. HOST HOMES ARE FAMILIES WHO PROVIDE YOUTH WITH HOUSING FOR UP TO 21 DAYS WHICH ALLOW THE STAFF TO LINK THE YOUTH WITH SERVICES. SERVICES MY INCLUDE COUNSELING,CONFLICT MEDIATION, PARENTING FOR PARENTS, ETC. TEEN COURT - PROVIDES FIRST-TIME OFFENDING YOUTH AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE IN A COURT SETTING BY A JURY OF THEIR PEERS. CASA,ON YOUR WAY UP AND GEAR UP, SKILLS FOR LIFE, COMMUNTIY PARTNERS, SUICIDE PREVENTION,PROJECT SOS ARE OTHER PROGRAMS THAT ARE PROVIDED.
