Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE BATTIER SCHOLARS PROGRAM SELECTS OUTSTANDING FUTURE LEADERS FROM MIAMI, HOUSTON, DETROIT, AND CAMDEN NJ AND GIVES THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE AND IMPACT THEIR DESTINY THROUGH THE POWER OF A COLLEGE EDUCATION. EACH SCHOLAR RECEIVES A $20,000 SCHOLARSHIP AND ACCESS TO SIGNIFICANT RESOURCES AND BENEFITS. THROUGH THE BATTIER SCHOLARS PROGRAM, TAKE CHARGE PROVIDES A COMPREHENSIVE, HANDS-ON, AND UNPARALLELED LEVEL OF RESOURCES AND SUPPORT FOR THESE ASPIRING LEADERS, THROUGHOUT THEIR COLLEGE JOURNEY AND BEYOND. FIFTY-THREE SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE BEEN AWARDED, TOTALING OVER $1.1 MILLION, AND 95% OF BATTIER SCHOLARS EARN THEIR BACHELORS DEGREE OR HIGHER.

THE GUIDE (GIVING UNDERSERVED INDIVIDUALS DIRECTION IN EDUCATION) PROGRAM WORKS WITH DRIVEN HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENTS TO INFORM THEM ABOUT EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND MOTIVATE THEM TO PURSUE A COLLEGE DEGREE. WE GIVE THEM THE TOOLS AND SUPPORT THEY NEED TO EXCEL THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL AND ONTO COLLEGE CAMPUSES. GUIDE STUDENTS ARE PAIRED WITH WELL-TRAINED MENTORS, AND ARE PROVIDED WITH A COLLEGE SUCCESS COACH, SAT AND ACT TEST PREPARATION COURSES, COLLEGE-READINESS SEMINARS, AND COUNTLESS OTHER RESOURCES AND BENEFITS. SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF OUR TWO-YEAR PROGRAM EARNS EACH SCHOLAR A FULL, FOUR-YEAR FLORIDA PREPAID COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP. GUIDE HAS ENHANCED THE LIVES OF OVER 60 STUDENTS FROM MIAMI DADE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

OUR COMMITMENT TO ALL SCHOLARS IN OUR FOUNDATION REACHES FAR BEYOND THE FINANCIAL BENEFIT OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS WE AWARD. WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON CREATING RELATIONSHIPS AND PROVIDING A COMPREHENSIVE LEVEL OF SUPPORT TO EACH OF OUR SCHOLARS, WHICH HAS GROWN INTO OUR BATTIER "GO BEYOND" PROGRAM. WITH GO BEYOND, WE ADAPT TO MEET THEIR NEEDS, AND STRIVE TO INSTILL THE CONFIDENCE IN EACH OF THEM THAT WE ARE BEHIND THEM IN PURSUIT OF THEIR GOALS. SOME OF THE DYNAMIC WAYS IN WHICH WE PROVIDE THIS PERSONALIZED SUPPORT ARE THROUGH OUR BATTIER GRANT INITIATIVE, OUR SCHOLARS RETREATS, AND MOST RECENTLY, IN THE ASSISTANCE WE HAVE OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
