Part 3 - Line 4a

MUSEUM: MOMATH OPERATED A HANDS-ON MUSEUM FOCUSED ON MATHEMATICS. SCHOOL GROUPS FLOCKED TO THE MUSEUM THROUGH MID-MARCH 2020, WITH FAMILIES AND TOURISTS ROUNDING OUT VISITATION ON WEEKENDS. NOTE THAT THE MUSEUM CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC ON MARCH 13, 2020 DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC.

COMMUNITY: MOMATH OPERATES A NUMBER OF PUBLIC PROGRAMS THAT SERVE THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING EXPERIENCES THAT HIGHLIGHT THE EVOLVING, CREATIVE, AND AESTHETIC NATURE OF MATHEMATICS. THESE PROGRAMS ALSO AIM TO SHOW THE MANY UNEXPECTED WAYS THAT MATH TOUCHES ON THE WORLD AROUND US AND ON OUR EVERYDAY LIVES. COMMUNITY PROGRAMS INCLUDED SEVERAL MONTHLY PRESENTATION SERIES, A SUITE OF TRAVELING/PORTABLE EXHIBITS, AND A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS DIRECTED TOWARD PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS, BOTH IN PERSON AND ONLINE.

TRAVELING EXHIBITION: MATH MIDWAY 2 GO (MM2GO.ORG) IS A SPIN-OFF OF MOMATH'S ORIGINAL TRAVELING EXHIBITION (THE MATH MIDWAY). DESIGNED BY MOMATH PRINCIPALS PRIOR TO THE FORMATION OF THE MUSEUM, IT SERVED AS A TANGIBLE PROOF OF CONCEPT: IT DEMONSTRATED THAT IT WAS POSSIBLE TO BUILD ENGAGING EXHIBITS THAT VISITORS WOULD NOT ONLY ENJOY BUT WOULD ACTIVELY SEEK OUT, AND WHICH WOULD ILLUSTRATE A WIDE VARIETY OF MATHEMATICAL IDEAS AND PRINCIPLES.
