WE'RE A SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATION LOCATED IN THE CITY OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN THAT SPECIALIZES IN PROVIDING COORDINATED ASSESSMENT, PERMANENT HOUSING, AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THAT ARE HOMELESS.

CHS IS PART OF A NETWORK OF ORGANIZATIONS THAT ASSIST HOMELESS HOUSEHOLDS IN DETROIT, MI. THIS NETWORK IS CALLED A CONTINUUM OF CARE (COC). OUR ROLE IN THIS NETWORK IS TO CONDUCT ASSESSMENTS AND INTAKES FOR HOUSEHOLDS IN DETROIT, MI THAT ARE HOMELESS AND THEN REFER THEM TO COC PARTNERS FOR HOUSING AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES. WE ALSO PROVIDE RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES. THE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES WE OFFER INCLUDE: MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING, HEALTHY LIVING COUNSELING, TENANCY MANAGEMENT, BUDGET & FINANCIAL COUNSELING, AND OTHER SERVICES BASED ON THEIR UNIQUE SET OF NEEDS. WHEN PROVIDING SERVICES, CHS USES OUR EXPERTISE TO ADVOCATE FOR THE HOMELESS BY ENSURING THAT THEY KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THEIR RIGHTS & THAT THEY RECEIVE THE SERVICES THEY'RE ELIGIBLE FOR IN AN APPROPRIATE MANNER.
