THREE ESSENTIAL SERVICES: FOOD, EDUCATION AND BASIC HEALTH CARE IN 2019, HANDS AT WORK PROVIDED HOLISTIC CARE FOR 1,640 ORPHANED AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN BY SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF LOCAL COMMUNITY-BASED VOLUNTEERS. THESE CARE WORKERS CONDUCT HOME VISITS AND PROVIDE THREE ESSENTIAL SERVICES -- FOOD SECURITY, EDUCATION AND BASIC HEALTH CARE -- TO CHILDREN IN THE COUNTRIES OF NIGERIA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, ZAMBIA, MALAWI, ZIMBABWE, MOZAMBIQUE, SOUTH AFRICA AND ESWATINI (FORMERLY SWAZILAND).
PROJECT SUPPORT: FUNDS WERE USED FOR BUILDING SCHOOLS, TOILETS AND KITCHENS; MAINTAINING AND REPAIRING EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE; START-UP COSTS FOR INCOME GENERATING ACTIVITIES LIKE COMMUNITY GARDENS; CONDUCTING OUTREACH; FACILITATING LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT TRAINING AND MENTORING ACTIVITIES FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY BASED VOLUNTEERS IN NIGERIA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, ZAMBIA, MALAWI, ZIMBABWE, MOZAMBIQUE, SOUTH AFRICA AND ESWATINI (FORMERLY SWAZILAND).
