2014 MEDICAL/LEGAL EVENT: "WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MEDICAL MARIJUANA" WAS PRESENTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE WILKES-BARRE LAW & LIBRARY ASSOCIATION ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2014 ON THE CAMPUS OF KINGS COLLEGE, WILKES-BARRE, PA. JON SHAPIRO, M.D. WAS THE MEDICAL PRESENTER. THE LEGAL PRESENTERS WERE ATTY. BERNARD WALTER AND FIRST ASST. DISTRICT ATTORNEY SAM SANGUEDOLCE. APPROXIMATELY 100 PEOPLE ATTENDED.


JOINT EDUCATIONAL EVENT: "ADDRESSING PHYSICIAN BURNOUT/PHYSICIAN STRESS" WAS PRESENTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LACKAWANNA COUNTY MEDICAL SOCIETY AND THE COMMONWEALTH MEDICAL COLLEGE ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2014 AT GLENMAURA NATIONAL GOLF CLUB IN MOOSIC, PA. JON SHAPIRO, M.D. WAS THE SPEAKER. FIFTY-SEVEN PEOPLE ATTENDED. ATTENDEES EARNED TWO AMA PRA CATEGORY 1 CREDITS.


2015 KEYSTONE SYMPOSIUM: "CHILD ABUSE: RECOGNIZING AND REPORTING," A SEMINAR ON THE NEW REGULATIONS FOR REPORTING CHILD ABUSE THAT GO INTO EFFECT IN 2015, WAS PRESENTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LACKAWANNA COUNTY MEDICAL SOCIETY AND THE COMMONWEALTH MEDICAL COLLEGE ON SATURDAY APRIL 11, 2015 AT THE RADISSON AT LACKAWANNA STATION IN SCRANTON, PA. A ONE-HOUR PRESENTATION BY KEYNOTE SPEAKER DR. ANN BOTASH WAS FOLLOWED BY A THREE-HOUR TRAINING PROGRAM. APPROXIMATELY 250 PEOPLE ATTENDED; PHYSICIANS EARNED THREE CME CREDITS.
