PPL BUILDS THE HOPE, ASSETS, AND SELF RELIANCE OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOWER INCOME BY PROVIDING TRANSFORMATIVE AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND EMPLOYMENT READINESS SERVICES.

HOUSING STABILITY: SINCE 1972, PROJECT FOR PRIDE IN LIVING (PPL) HAS KNOWN THAT THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO PROMOTE LONG-TERM SELF-RELIANCE AND SUCCESS IS BY STABILIZING THE ECONOMICS OF A HOUSEHOLD. AT PPL, OUR TWO AREAS OF FOCUS, HOUSING AND CAREER READINESS, ALLOW HOUSEHOLDS TO ESTABLISH THE FINANCIAL STABILITY THEY NEED TO BUILD THE FUTURE THEY ENVISION. PPL OWNS, MANAGES, AND SUPPORTS 1,672 HOUSING UNITS WITH A FOCUS ON AFFORDABLE AND SUPPORTIVE HOUSING. OUR INTEGRATED RESIDENT SERVICES PROVIDE A RANGE OF SUPPORTS TO HOUSEHOLDS, INCLUDING BASIC NEED SUPPORT, CASE MANAGEMENT, CONNECTION TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES, AND MORE. IN 2021, 97% OF PPL RESIDENTS MAINTAINED STABLE HOUSING FOR 24 MONTHS OR LONGER.


CAREER READINESS: PPL'S INTEGRATED CAREER READINESS MODEL OFFERS A PROVEN FRAMEWORK TO HELP PARTICIPANTS GAIN HARD AND SOFT WORK READINESS SKILLS, SECURE QUALITY JOBS, INCREASE THEIR INCOME, REDUCE THEIR COSTS AND DEBT, AND BUILD SELF-SUFFICIENCY FOR THEMSELVES, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR COMMUNITY. 90% OF OUR CAREER READINESS PARTICIPANTS PLACED IN JOBS RETAINED THEIR EMPLOYMENT FOR 12 MONTHS WITH AN AVERAGE INCOME GROWTH OF FOUR TIMES THEIR STARTING PAY. AS WE DELIVER LIFE-CHANGING RESULTS IN THESE AREAS, PPL IS ALSO ENGAGED IN BROADER CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THE ESSENTIAL ROLE OF COMMUNITY VOICE AND OWNERSHIP TO STRENGTHEN NEIGHBORHOODS AND ENSURE THRIVING COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL REGION.
