ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 1942 BY IMMIGRANTS FROM THE ANCIENT REGION OF EPIROS, HALF OF WHICH IS IN GREECE AND HALF IN ALBANIA. THE PURPOSE OF THE GROUP IS TO HELP PEOPLE FROM THE AREA SETTLE IN THE U.S. AND MAINTAIN THE CULTURE AND TRADITIONS OF THEIR HISTORIC HOMELAND.

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ARE SELECTED BASED ON PREDETERMINED CRITERIA BY A SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE. SUCH CRIETERIA ARE BASED ON THE STUDENTS FINANCIAL NEED, ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND OTHER INFORMATION PRESENTED ON APPLICANTS SCHOLARSHIP REQUEST. SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED UNDER THE PROGRAM ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ORGANIZATIONS CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS AND FOR FURTHERANCE OF ITS CHARITABLE PURPOSES.
