DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER AND SERVICES THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM PROVIDES EMPOWERING RESOURCES THAT HELP VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE LIVE VIOLENCE-FREE LIVES. AWARE IS ABLE TO ASSIST VICTIMS THROUGH PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT INCLUDE SHELTER SERVICES, 24 HOUR CRISIS SUPPORT LINE, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELING, LEGAL ADVOCACY, CASE MANAGEMENT, AND VARIOUS GROUPS AND PROGRAMS. AWARE UTILITIZES VOLUTEERS TO HELP PROVIDE SERVICES TO SURVIVORS, THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS. THE 24 HOUR CRISIS SUPPORT LINE WAS STAFFED BY VOLUNTEERS FOR APPROXIMATELY 2,200 HOURS FOR THE LAST FISCAL YEAR. PROVIDES VISITATION AND SAFE EXCHANGE SERVICES.
SEXUAL ASSUALT SERVICES AWARE PROVIDES SERVICES SUCH AS COUNSELING, GROUP WORK, AND CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES. ADVOCATES WORK TO EMPOWER SURVIVORS WITH RESOURCES TO FUNCTION EMOTIONALLY, ECONOMICALLY, AND SAFELY WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. AWARE PROVIDES MEDICAL ADVOCACY WITH THE LOCAL HOSPITALS FOR SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSUALT SEEKING MEDICAL CARE OR A FORENSIC EXAM. COORDINATION OF A SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE TEAM.
