SEE SCHEDULE O FOR THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION STATEMENT.CHILDREN'S LITERACY INITIATIVE ("CLI") IS A NON-PROFIT THAT SEEKS TO DISMANTLE STRUCTURAL RACISM BY PROVIDING BLACK AND LATINX CHILDREN THE ANTI-RACIST INSTRUCTION, SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY NEEDED TO CREATE EQUITY IN EDUCATION.

CHILDREN'S LITERACY INITIATIVE FOCUSES ON SOLVING THE EQUITY AND OPPORTUNITY GAP IN EARLY LITERACY FOR PRE-K TO 5TH GRADE CHILDREN. CLI PROVIDED WORKSHOPS, IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL COACHING, AND HIGH QUALITY CHILDREN'S BOOKS TO APPROXIMATELY 3,200 EDUCATORS AND 57,500 STUDENTS IN SIX STATES. CLI CONSISTENTLY RECEIVES FOUR-STAR RATINGS FROM CHARITY NAVIGATOR. IN ADDITION TO $12.5M IN FEE-FOR-SERVICE REVENUE, CLI RECEIVED BOTH PHILANTHROPIC AND FEDERAL FUNDING, BRINGING TOTAL REVENUE TO $23.5M. WITH 5.5% OF EXPENSES GOING TOWARDS FUNDRAISING AND 11.3% TOWARDS MANAGEMENT AND GENERAL EXPENSES, CLI IS ABLE TO DIRECT 83.2% TOWARDS PROGRAM SERVICES.
