EARLY LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER (ELRC) ADMINISTER THE CHILD CARE WORKS PROGRAM AND KEYSTONE STARS PROGRAMS: CCC ADMINISTERS THIS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES FUNDED PROGRAM TO (A) ASSIST LOW INCOME FAMILIES LIVING IN ADAMS, CUMBERLAND, DAUPHIN, LANCASTER, LEBANON, PERRY, AND YORK COUNTIES WITH THE COST OF CHILD CARE AND (B) ASSIST FAMILIES, REGARDLESS OF INCOME, IN UNDERSTANDING PENNSYLVANIA'S PUBLICLY FUNDED EARLY EDUCATION SYSTEM AND IN LOCATING AND EVALUATING APPROPRIATE EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS FOR THEIR CHILDREN (C) IMPLEMENT KEYSTONE STARS BY PROVIDING INFORMATION, COACHING, MENTORING AND OFFERING WORKSHOPS, ASSIST PROVIDERS WITH THE SELF-STUDY PROCESS, AND DESIGNATING PROVIDERS WITH A STAR LEVEL BY DETERMINING THEY HAVE MET ALL OF THE STANDARDS. (D) ADMINISTER THE ARPA AND CARES GRANT PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAMS.AT THE CLOSE OF THE FISCAL YEAR, SERVICES INCLUDED:1. 12,750 CHILDREN FOR CHILD CARE WORKS FUNDING2. 4,500 CHILD CARE REFERRALS3. 950 KEYSTONE STARS SITES4. 100 RELATIVE PROVIDERS


CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAMCCC PROVIDES PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT TO FAMILY HOME BASED AND CENTER CHILD CARE PROVIDERS FOR NUTRITIOUS MEALS AND SNACKS SERVED TO CHILDREN IN THEIR CARE THROUGH THIS PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FUNDED PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES NUTRITION EDUCATION, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING TO PARTICIPATING CHILD CARE PROVIDERS. SERVING SIX CENTERS AND 65 HOME BASED FAMILY PROVIDERS IN 21 COUNTIES.


PARENTS AS TEACHERSHOME BASED PARENT CHILD VISITING PROGRAM TO ASSIST FAMILIES IN PREPARING THEIR CHILDREN FOR SCHOOL AND ADDRESSING DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS. GRANT FUNDED BY THE CHILDREN'S TRUST FUND AND YORK COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION. SERVING 20 FAMILIES IN YORK COUNTY.


CHILD CARE RECRUITMENT AND SUPPORT SERVICESCCC PROMOTES THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILD CARE PROVIDERS THOUGH TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT, AND RECRUITS NEW HOME BASED FAMILY PROVIDERS.SERVES 100 PROVIDERS.FIVE WORKSHOP SERIES FOR 60 HOME BASED FAMILY PROVIDERS.INDIVIDUALIZED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR 100 PROVIDERS.CORPORATE REFERRALSPROVIDE ENHANCED REFERRAL SERVICES, INCLUDING CURRENT VACANCY INFORMATION, TO PARENTS WORKING FOR EMPLOYERS WHO HOLD A CURRENT CONTRACT WITH COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS FOR CHILDREN, INC.
