IN OUR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAMS, WE ARE COMMITTED TO UNLOCKING CREATIVITY AND CURIOSITY WHILE NURTURING CULTURAL COMPETENCY AND A LOVE OF LEARNING IN ALL OUR CHILDREN. EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IS CRUCIAL TO THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE WHOLE CHILD; SOCIALLY, EMOTIONALLY, COGNITIVELY AND PHYSICALLY. THEREFORE, AS PART OF OUR COMMITMENT TO EMPOWERING WOMEN AND ELIMINATING RACISM, WE PROVIDE A SAFE, HIGH-QUALITY, INCLUSIVE AND ENGAGING CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THAT SUPPORTS, EDUCATES AND EMPOWERS RESPECTFUL, COMPASSIONATE AND CULTURALLY COMPETENT CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY.


THE ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) PROGRAM OFFERS ESL CLASSES TO WOMEN AND MEN WITH WIDELY DIVERGENT LANGUAGE ABILITIES AND BACKGROUNDS. EACH YEAR, ABOUT STUDENTS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD ARE ENROLLED IN AN "IMMERSION-TYPE" ATMOSPHERE. THIS YEAR, STUDENTS ARE ENGAGED IN VARIED ONLINE OPPORTUNITIES AS WE NAVIGATE THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC AND WORK TO RETURN TO IN-PERSON CLASSES.


THE BREAST CANCER RESOURCE CENTER (BCRC) IS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING WOMEN'S HEALTH AND EMPOWERING WOMEN TO TAKE CONTROL OVER THEIR PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING. THE BCRC IS DEDICATED TO COMMUNITY OUTREACH THAT UNDERSCORES THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-EXAMINATION, PROFESSIONAL HEALTH SCREENINGS, AND EARLY DETECTION ALONGSIDE PROVIDING SUPPORT AND INFORMATION TO WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY BREAST CANCER, AND TO INCREASE UNDERSTANDING OF THE DISEASE. OUR MISSION IS TO EQUIP EVERY WOMAN WHO REACHES OUT TO US WITH PERSONALIZED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT WILL ENABLE HER TO LIVE WITH, THROUGH, AND BEYOND BREAST CANCER. THE BCRC'S UNIQUE AND COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO BREAST CANCER SUPPORT INCLUDES EDUCATION AND COUNSELING, FITNESS AND WELLNESS, AND WIG AND PROSTHESES FITTING.


WE ALSO WORK TO ELIMINATE RACISM AND EMPOWER WOMEN THROUGH OUR ADVOCACY EFFORTS, INCLUDING LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT ON CAPITOL HILL AND IN-DISTRICT, ANTI-VIOLENCE CAMPAIGNS, UPLIFTING POLICY PRIORITIES IN ALIGNMENT WITH OUR MISSION, SUCH AS TESTIFYING TO IMPROVE WAGE DISPARITIES IN FIELDS COMPRISED OF WOMEN AND PARTICULARLY WOMEN OF COLOR, CONVENING ANNUAL ANTI-RACISM PANELS, AND PARTNERING WITH ORGANIZATIONS WHICH SHARE OUR VISION OF A WORLD FREE OF INEQUITIES.
