RICHMOND EYE & EAR FOUNDATION OPERATES IN DIRECT SUPPORT OF THECHARITABLE PURPOSE OF ITS SUPPORTED ORGANIZATION, RICHMOND EYE AND EARHEALTHCARE ALLIANCE. RICHMOND EYE AND EAR HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE (REEHA)OFFERS LOW VISION REHABILITATION SERVICE TO VISUALLY IMPAIRED, TEACHINGPATIENTS TO USE THEIR REMAINING VISION MORE EFFICIENTLY. THE LOW VISIONCLINIC SERVES MORE THAN 900 PATIENTS. RICHMOND EYE & EAR CONTINUES TOPROVIDE THIS SERVICE DESPITE TRADITIONALLY HIGH OPERATING COSTS.

RICHMOND EYE & EAR FOUNDATION OPERATES IN DIRECT SUPPORT OF THE CHARITABLE PURPOSE OF ITS SUPPORTED ORGANIZATION, RICHMOND EYE AND EAR HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE (REEHA). REEHA PROVIDES FREE VISION AND HEARING SCREENINGS FOR PRE KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN TO INCREASE ACCESS TO CARE FOR CHILDREN AND TO HELP THEM SEE AND HEAR AS WELL AS THEIR CLASSMATES. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES FREE MOBILE SCREENINGS, IN ADDITION TO EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE IMPORTANCE OF VISUAL AND AUDITORY HEALTH, AND SEEKS TO BREAK DOWN BARRIERS TO CARE SUCH AS LANGUAGE, TRANSPORTATION, LOW INCOME OR THE LACK OF INSURANCE. REEHA SCREENING ASSISTANTS DETECT POTENTIAL VISUAL AND AUDITORY PROBLEMS AND REPORT ANY NECESSARY REFERRALS. DETECTINGTHESE ISSUES AT AN EARLY AGE IS CRITICAL FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS. MORE THAN 18,000 CHILDREN HAVE BEEN SCREENED SINCE THE PROGRAM'S INCEPTION IN FALL 2015. 17% OF THE CHILDREN SCREENED WERE REFERRED TO A PHYSICIAN FOR VISION, HEARING, OR BOTH. 80% OF CHILDREN REFERRED RECEIVED FOLLOW-UP CARE.RICHMOND EYE AND EAR HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE PROVIDES GRANTS TO RICHMOND EYE AND EAR FOUNDATION FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF HAVING RICHMOND EYE AND EAR HEALTH FOUNDATION USE THE MONEY TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL, CHARITABLE, AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY. RICHMOND EYE AND EAR FOUNDATION'S OPERATIONS AND GRANT MAKING ACTIVITIES PROVIDED SERVICES TO COMMUNITY HEALTH INITIATIVES, INCLUDING:EDUCATION AND OUTREACH VISION AND HEARING - (A) OPERATING SUPPORT AND FUNDING FOR INCREASED OUTREACH ACTIVITIES FOR MORE THAN 2,500 PRINT-DISABLED INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING RADIOS AND THE READING OF CURRENT PRINTED (B) SUPPORT OF THE PARENT-CHILD ADVOCATE PROGRAM FOR DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING COMMUNITY COUNSELING SERVICES, SERVING OVER 55 FAMILIES, INCLUDING 150 INDIVIDUALS (C) PROVIDE VISION, HEARING, AND DENTAL SCREENINGS, AND FITNESS ASSESSMENTS TO THOSE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES. (D) SUPPORTING FREE CLINIC FOR MORE THAN 6,800 UNINSURED INDIVIDUALS.RESEARCH GRANTS - FUNDS TO SUPPORT RESEARCH STUDIES BY MAJOR TEACHING INSTITUTIONS IN THE AREAS OF USHER SYNDROME, NOCTURNAL ENURESIS, AND CHRONIC RHINOSINUSITIS
