HUDSON OPERA HOUSE OFFERS A YEAR-ROUND SCHEDULE OF ARTS AND CULTURAL PROGRAMMING IN THE 1855 FORMER HUDSON CITY HALL WHICH CONTAINS NEW YORK STATE'S OLDEST SURVIVING THEATER.

Part 3 - Line 4a

MAIN STAGE: TICKETED PERFORMANCES AND EVENTS WITH PAID ADMISSIONS, BUT OCCASIONALLY PRESENTED FOR FREE WITH A RESERVATION. TYPES OF EVENTS INCLUDE DANCE, MUSIC, AND THEATER PERFORMANCES BY PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS, AS WELL AS OTHER EVENTS SUCH AS TED TALKS AND FILM SCREENINGS. THESE EVENTS TAKE PLACE MAINLY IN THE PERFORMANCE HALL, BUT FROM TIME TO TIME MAY TAKE PLACE IN THE FIRST -FLOOR ROOMS OR OFF-SITE, DEPENDING ON THE NATURE OF THE EVENT.


COMMUNITY: FREE EVENTS RANGING FROM WORKSHOPS FOR YOUTH, FREE PERFORMANCES FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES, LARGE-SCALE COMMUNITY EVENTS LIKE WINTER WALK AND KWANZAA, TO ART EXHIBITIONS AND BOOK READINGS THAT SERVE THE COMMUNITY. ALSO INCLUDES FREE BUILDING USE/RENTALS FOR COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS BASED ON NEED/MERIT/MISSION.


BUILDING/RENTALS: INCOME GENERATING RENTALS. MOST TYPICALLY, A STRAIGHT-FORWARD RENTAL FOR PRIVATE USE SUCH AS A WEDDING OR CORPORATE EVENT. OCCASIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION WILL DISCOUNT ITS RENTAL FEES FOR OTHER NON-PROFIT EVENTS. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FREE COMMUNITY USE AND A DISCOUNTED RENTAL TO ANOTHER NON-PROFIT OR COMMUNITY GROUP IS DETERMINED BY WHETHER OR NOT THE USE OF THE BUILDING IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
