THE KINGWOOD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT PROTECTS THE CITY OF KINGWOOD, WHICH IS ABOUT 35 SQUARE MILES WITH A POPULATION OF ABOUT 3,200. THEY ALSO PROTECT THE OUTLYING AREAS OF MANOWN, PRESTON, HOWESVILLE, AND CADDELL MOUNTAIN. THIS MAKES THE TOTAL AREA OF COVERAGE ABOUT 54 SQUARE MILES WITH A POPULATION OF 5,200. THE MAJORITY OF THE AREA IS RURAL AND IN SOME CASES WITHOUT FIRE HYDRANTS. IN OUR AREA WE PROTECT MATTHEWS BRONZE, PRESTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, APPALACHIAN WOOD PELLETS, PRESTON HIGH SCHOOL AND CAMP DAWSON. THE THREE MAJOR ROUTES THROUGH OUR AREA ARE RT. 7, RT. 26, AND RT.72. THE PRESTON COUNTY HIRT TEAM (HAZARDS INCIDENT RESPONSE TEAM), COMPANY 30 MEETS AND HOUSES EQUIPMENT AT KINGWOOD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.

RAISE, RECEIVE,AND APPLY FUNDS FOR FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS, EQUIPMENT, TECHNOLOGY, AND EXPANSION OF SERVICES FOR PRESTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.

TO RESTORE, PRESERVE AND PROMOTE THE OUTSTANDING NATURAL QUALITIES OF THE CHEAT RIVER WATERSHED.

The goal of this organization is to work to relieve poverty in developing countries by providing funds, technical assistance and supplies which improve the health, education, welfare, social well-being and self-reliance of individuals and families. Also included are organizations that provide relief services in response to a major disaster or large-scale emergency that occurs abroad.

The goal of this organization is to provide pre-hospital emergency medical care and rapid transportation to health care facilities.

FOOD FOR PRESTONS MISSION IS TO HELP THE HUNGRY IN PRESTON COUNTY THROUGH FOOD, EDUCATION AND HUNGER AWARENESS. THIS ACHEIVED BY SECURING FOOD, FUNDING AND VOLUNTEERS FOR OUR BACKPACK AND INDENPENDENTLY RUN FOOD PANTRIES THROUGHOUT PRESTON COUNTY.

THE PROVISION OF EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND HANDS ON OPPORTUNITIES NETWORKED VIA 4-H CLUBS AND FFA CHAPTERS IN PRESTON COUNTY, WV; DESIGNED TO HELP THOSE MEMBERS GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY AND PROMOTE THE LIVESTOCK INDUSTRY THROUGHT THEIR INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS.
