Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

RIVERWORKS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (RDC) DRIVES SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BY ALIGNING RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES WITH SPECIALIZED RESOURCES THAT STRENGTHEN HARAMBEE, RIVERWEST AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

KINSHIP COMMUNITY FOOD CENTER, FORMERLY KNOWN AS RIVERWEST FOOD PANTRY, ENGAGES VOLUNTEERS AND NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS TO END HUNGER, ISOLATION, AND POVERTY. OUR INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS NOURISH FOOD SECURITY AND WELLNESS, FOSTER BELONGING AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND EMPOWER STABILITY AND ECONOMIC PROSPERITY IN OUR CITY.

PABST MANSION, INC. PRESERVES, SHARES, AND INTERPRETS AN ICONIC MILWAUKEE HOME THAT SERVES AS A TESTAMENT TO THE GILDED AGE. THROUGH IMMERSIVE TOURS, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, AND PROGRAMMING, PABST MANSION, INC. BRINGS VISITORS BACK IN TIME TO HELP UNDERSTAND THE PRESENT, SHARING THE STORY OF BREWING, ARCHITECTURE, ART, AND CULTURE THROUGH THE LENS OF THE PABST FAMILY AND ITS IMPACT ON MILWAUKEE.
