AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, LOOK3 CHALLENGED ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY BY PRESENTING DIVERSE WORK BY A VARIETY OF ARTISTS, DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES, AND PROVIDING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS. THE FESTIVAL FEATURED GALLERY EXHIBITIONS AND ON-STAGE APPEARANCES BY PHOTOGRAPHIC LEGENDS, AS WELL AS OUTDOOR INSTALLATIONS AND PROJECTIONS OVER FOUR DAYS AND NIGHTS - ALL TAKING PLACE ALONG CHARLOTTESVILLE'S HISTORIC DOWNTOWN MALL IN THE MONTH OF JUNE. THE LAST YEAR OF FESTIVAL OF THE PHOTOGRAPH INC. PROGRAM ACTIVITIES WAS DURING 2016 AS THE FESTIVAL BEGAN WRAPPING UP OPERATIONS AND FILED FOR DISSOLUTION IN 2017. IN 2017, THE FESTIVAL OF THE PHOTOGRAPH CEASED OPERATING AND BEGAN THE PROCESS OF WINDING DOWN THE ORGANIZATION.
