STARR OF HOPE IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION CREATED TO HELP VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT BY PROVIDING SHELTER SERVICES AND ADVOCACY. THE ORGANIZATION WAS ADOPTED AS A TEXAS NON-PROFIT CORPORATION ON JANUARY 17, 2010 AND IS COMMITTED TO SERVING THE COUNTIES OF STARR, ZAPATA AND JIM HOGG.

MISSION:

THE ORGANIZATION WAS CREATED TO PROVIDE A MEDIUM FROM WHICH THE YOUTH OF STARR COUNTY COULD EXHIBIT THEIR SCHOOL AND/OR 4-H PROJECTS. IN ADDITION, THE YOUTH BENEFIT FROM PREMIUMS AND SCHOLARSHIPS PAID BY THE ORGANIZATION.

LA BORDE HOUSE, A HISTORICAL HOTEL HAS BEEN RESTORED AND IS BEING PRESERVED FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. THE HOTEL IS VISITED ANNUALLY BY APPROXIMATELY 2,100 GUESTS FROM ALL OVER THE USA.
