THE UNITED STATES OPTIMIST DINGHY ASSOCIATION (USODA) WAS FORMED TO INTRODUCE AND EDUCATE CHILDREN ABOUT SAILING. THE OPTIMIST CLASS ARE USED FOR THIS PURPOSE AND ARE DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR CHILDREN. THE USODA IS A NATIONWIDE MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION THAT SPONSORS, SACTIONS AND OVERSEES THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ASSOCIATION. THERE ARE OVER 400,000 OPTIMISTS CLASS BOATS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.

The goal of this organization is to provide opportunities for people to learn and become competitive in swimming, diving, snorkeling, surfing, water skiing, water polo, boating, white water rafting and other water sports. Coaching, access to a swimming pool or other facilities, sports equipment, and officials for competitions are generally included.

IS ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE FOR COMPENSATORY MITIGATION AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A DIRECT COMPENSATION PROGRAM AS REQUIRED IN THE MATTER IN RE REVOLUTION WIND, LLC APPLICATION TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN TWO 23-MILE SUBMARINE EXPORT CABLES THROUGH THE WEST PASSAGE OF NARRAGANSETT BAY TO THE CABLE LANDING LOCATION IN NORTH KINGSTOWN AND OTHER ASSOCIATED FACILITIES.
