THE WEST PHILADELPHIA CULTURAL ALLIANCE WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1984 TO "STIMULATE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN THE ARTS BY CULTIVATING AN INTEREST IN, UNDERSTANDING OF, AND APPRECIATION FOR THE ARTS IN THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA REGION. THE MISSION EXPANDED TO CELEBRATE THE LEGACY OF PAUL L. ROBESON AND IN 1994 WPCA BOUGHT THE LAST HOUSE HE LIVED IN, AND OPERATES IT AS A MUSEUM. WPCA/PRHM IS LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES, AND THE ORGANIZATION IS NOW A LEADER AMONGST OTHER PAUL ROBESON SITES.

MISSION:

RAISE FUNDS FOR AND MAKE CHARITABLE GRANTS TO SAM ELIMU FOUNDATION IN KENYA AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES AND INTERNATIONALLY.

The goal of this organization is to operate organizations whose members are graduates of a particular educational institution who provide support for the institution in the form of financial contributions, student recruitment efforts, promotional activities, fund-raising events and continued ties with the academic program.
